The deafening sound of silence; Hillary’s non-indictment.

Yesterday, FBI Director James Comey personally released the findings of a lengthy FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private E-mail server and the repercussions for national security. His conclusions:

  • Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

A win that was obviously expected by the Clinton campaign. What seems to not have been expected is what came before. Director Comey presented detailed findings which directly contradicted all of Hillary Clinton’s excuses. Without doubt, she is and has been repeatedly lying to the American public. Nothing really new there. He then presented the following findings:

  • …there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”
  • …should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation.”
  • Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.”

I think those findings were totally unexpected. Finally, while Comey recommended no criminal charges be filed, he did not say that Hillary was innocent. What he did say was:

  • To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions.”

Let me translate that. “To be clear, other individuals would have had their clearance revoked and been removed, or fired, from federal employment.” I think that captures the gist of it.

The result? While Hillary is not facing criminal charges she has suffered a major set back in her bid for the Presidency. The public is now faced with irrefutable proof she habitually lies and that she showed a level of incompetence while serving as Secretary of State. Additionally, President Obama, jetting about with Hillary on Air Force One, is left with egg on his face as well. Besides just a close personal association, who is it that didn’t fire her and let this lapse in national security continue?

Today, right leaning and honest news outlets are awash with the story. Left leaning, the main stream media, the Clinton campaign and the White House are eerily silent. Why? They were obviously expecting something different. This is what I think happened.

In order to protect himself, before cozying up to Hillary on Air Force One, Obama needed to know whether or not the FBI would recommend Hillary be indicted. Accordingly, a plan was hatched for Bill Clinton to seemingly surprise Loretta Lynch at the airport. (Come on, no one believes the meeting was accidental.) Bill, after grandchildren niceties asked one question; would indictment be recommended? Lynch shared with him what she knew. It would not. Bill, Hillary and President Obama must have been ecstatic. A major political coup was planned. Hillary riding with President Obama on Air Force One, thereby looking Presidential, to a campaign blow out where the baton would be passed. It was to be a big success. Hillary would be appropriately coronated and Obama’s legacy would live on. What they did not expect was Director Comey’s detailed description of Hillary’s sins. Sins which laid bare her deceit and, even if unactionable, her guilt. What they had taken pains to surreptitiously prevent happened anyway, President Obama, by association, would also suffer for Hillary’s sins.

The scenario I presented above is quite likely. Unfortunately, I have no way to prove it so it must remain in the domain of conjecture. That Comey’s comments, taken in whole, were unexpected is borne out by today’s absolute…

I would say “well played Director Comey!” but, I don’t think he was playing politics. I think he was simply being honest. That is why Hillary and her supporters were so fully caught off guard. They have fallen so far into the pit of political flim-flam, that simple honesty, in all of its innocence, has caught them totally off guard.

P.S. Any bets on whether or not there will be some pretext created by the White House to remove Comey from office? I mean, we can’t have HONEST people in the highest halls of government! We shall see if President Obama attempts to remove him before his term is up.
